We are going to gather small items around the classroom and playground that begin with the phonic sound we are currently focused on. We can also pick objects that have the phonic sound within the word. Some items can be applied to more than 1 sound. Items like chairs and tables that can be seen in the classroom could be drawn instead. The sound labelled baskets can serve as a visual representation of the sounds being covered in class. The baskets can be taken out for sound reviewal exercises on a regular basis and students could explore the ‘sound baskets’ further during their free play time.
